Een tatoeage kan veel meer zijn dan een mooi plaatje dat voor de rest van je leven op je lichaam zal staan. Dit is vooral het geval wanneer je een tekst als tatoeage laat zetten. Bij een tekst gaat het namelijk niet alleen om de sierlijke letters en mooie karakters, maar daar gaat het ook om de boodschap. Deze boodschap kan heel simpel zijn, zoals een naam van dierbare of gewoon enkel een woordje, maar het kan natuurlijk ook veel complexer zijn. Denk bij het complexe aan een spreuk, een uitdrukking of hele gedichten. Tatoeage teksten zijn in ieder geval erg krachtig en kunnen veel over een persoon zeggen. Kies jij ervoor om een tattoo teksten te laten zetten?

Hoe maak jij jouw tatoeage uniek?

Bij het laten tatoeëren van tekst, hou je rekening met verschillende onderdelen, zoals de tekst, de taal, uiteraard de plek waar je het laat zetten, maar ook welke stijl je kiest is belangrijk om mee te nemen. Je kan er dan voor kiezen om iets unieks te laten tatoeëren, maar als je zelf  een gangbare tekst uitkiest, kun je dat door middel van bovenstaande onderdelen nog uniek maken. De verschillende onderdelen worden hieronder uitgelegd.

De tattoo tekst zelf

Dit is eigenlijk het belangrijkste onderdeel wanneer je tattoo teksten laat zetten. Dit is namelijk iets waar goed over nagedacht moet worden. Denk daarom goed na over een tekst wat echt bij jou past, want het staat immers wel voor de rest van je leven op jouw lichaam. Denk daarbij ook na over een betekenis van een tekst, bijvoorbeeld wanneer je een sterke band met iemand hebt of als iemand overleden is. Het laten tatoeëren van de naam van je geliefde is ook een mooi gebaar om je liefde te tonen, maar denk hierbij dan weer aan dat de relatie ook stuk kan lopen. Maar wil je bijvoorbeeld geen namen, denk dan bijvoorbeeld eens aan een spreuk, een gebed, een gedicht, een titel van een liedje en ga zo maar door. Alles kan en mag uiteindelijk. 

Belangrijke tips om mee te nemen in jouw besluit: is dat je niet moet kiezen voor een klein lettertype, want na verloopt van de tijd kan de inkt gaan uitlopen en vervagen. 

De taal van de tattoo tekst

Voor welke taal kies jij? Wanneer je de tekst al gekozen hebt, dan weet je waarschijnlijk ook al in welke taal je dat wilt laten zetten? Het meeste wat er gekozen wordt, is Engels, omdat dat vaak veel mooier klinkt dan het Nederlands. Maar soms wordt er ook gekozen voor Latijn, wanneer dat namelijk mooier is wanneer er gekozen wordt voor een bepaalde spreuk. En het allerbelangrijkste kies een taal wat helemaal bij jou past. 

Een tip: wanneer je de taal zelf niet beheerst, is het aan te raden om de tekst te controleren, want vaak vertaalt een vertaalmachine het niet 100% goed. 

De plek

Eigenlijk kan een tatoeage bijna op elke plek gezet worden. Dit is daarom ook een belangrijk puntje om over na te denken, zeker wanneer je iets met tekst laat zetten, omdat de plek wel groot genoeg moet zijn, zodat de tekst daar kwijt kan. Waar je ook over na moeten denken bij het kiezen van een plek, is of je het zichtbaar wilt hebben of niet. Anders moet je voor een plek kiest waar het verborgen wordt door kleding. 

Als je er zelf aan herinnerd wilt worden, kan je er bijvoorbeeld voor kiezen om het aan de binnenkant van je onderarm te laten tatoeëren. Dit is alleen wel een plek die alleen geschikt is voor korte teksten, maar het is wel weer een plek die ideaal is om te verbergen. Je kan het dan namelijk nog laten verbergen door iets met lange mouwen te dragen. Andere plekken die goed zijn, maar ook vaak wordt gekozen zijn de schouders, de bovenarm of in zij. 

De stijl

De laatste overweging die je moet maken wanneer je kiest voor een tekst tatoeage is hoe je het er uit wilt laten zien. De stijl heeft namelijk een belangrijke invloed op de sfeer van de tattoo. Zo kan er namelijk voor verschillende lettertypes gekozen worden, maar de tattoo tekst kan je ook laten aanpassen door een symbool, zoals een vlinder, een bloem, een infinity of een hart. De tatoeage kan hierdoor mooier worden en hierdoor kan de tatoeage ook een extra betekenis krijgen. Om tot een goed besluit te komen, kan het misschien handig zijn om voor jezelf na te gaan welke boodschap je er mee wilt afgeven.
